Premiera produktu – Moduł WiFi RS485 Trikdis W485

The concept is simple: if wired internet is available but no Ethernet cable has been run to the communicator, the W485 WiFi module is the easiest solution.

The W485 is primarily designed as an add-on for the GSM/IP communicators G16 and G16T, enabling both event transmission and remote control through the WiFi channel.

The idea is that the W485 replaces the more expensive GSM data connection with a wired internet connection, taking over virtually all communication from the communicator. If the internet connection goes down (e.g. due to a power failure affecting the modem and router), the GSM communicator automatically takes back communication until normal operation is restored. Conversely, if something unexpected happens to the mobile network (e.g. SIM credit runs out), everything can continue through the W485 WiFi module.

At launch, the W485 can also be used as an add-on for the SP231(v2) alarm control panel and the T16 radio communicator, although for these it only supports event transmission.

Key technical specifications:

The W485 communicates with the alarm system or communicator via RS485 port and is powered from it (10–28V DC), drawing 100 mA in standby and 200 mA during transmission. Like all Trikdis devices, at least two parallel communication channels are available, with the module communicating simultaneously to the central monitoring station and the owner/user via the Protegus Mobile/Web app (TCP/IP or UDP/IP).

WiFi: up to 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4 GHz. Encryption: WPA, WPA2, WPA mixed modes. Fixed IP or dynamic DHCP available.
